Did Cold Steel change the polymer in their Secure-Ex sheaths?

Maybe there was an announcement, and I missed it. But I noticed with my D2 Leatherneck that the sheath was more flexible than it was in older ones. I also noticed that it didn't dull my edge, like old ones used to.

Now the sheath with my 3V Master Tanto is the same way. It's awesome, because the first thing I would look to do is get a new sheath-not anymore! It certainly looks like there is a lot less glass, if any at all.

dont know but would be great if they did.

cold steel rep..some info please and if you would give us when and how to tell? thanks.

It will be interesting if that's the case. I remember people complaining to Kabar about their sheaths dulling the edge and the response was that the sheaths need glass for strength. So it was a trade-off they were willing to make.

Yeah. But Kabar did eventually change the polymer in their sheaths to one with less glass. In the Becker sub forum, back when the frn sheaths they shipped sucked, I told them that both ESEE and Glock could figure out how to make injection molded sheaths that stand up to hard use, so there is no reason why they couldn't either.
