Did Cold Steel fix the sheath on the SRK 3V?

I have read a number of reviews of the SRK 3V that mention issues with the sheath being too tight. Has Cold Steel fixed this issue with the sheath? I would rather not have to find a replacement sheath for a new knife.

no, but it's not gonna be every knife and every sheath. some are a problem some aren't.

Some owners have reported that they have touched up the inside of the sheath with a thin hand file with good results.
Seems like a good plan of action as you are not defacing anything visible if you slip up or whatnot.

Mine is not too tight.
The 3V version has a flat ground saber grind.
The SK-5 version has a hollow ground saber grind.

I find the sheath usable, but if I were going to carry it a lot, I'd likely get a custom sheath.

With the 3V SRK the blade stock is thicker than the carbon steel version.
Must have been why I never noticed that / I ground my SRK 3V half as thick as it came to me.
Now it actually cuts stuff.
Of course I would be mad to have slipped that nice edge I put on it into the king of knife dullers (a Cold Steel factory , fiber reinforced , plastic sheath ) I bought an after market sheath for it.
Happy Dog !

Some . . . have . . .touched up the inside of the sheath with a thin hand file with good results.
Probably not with actual good results all around ; probably dulled the file for any future use .
I would recommend heating up the sheath with a good industrial hot air gun until it is quite hot then plunge the knife in and wiggle it around to open up the sheath . Maybe anchor the edge of the sheath in a vise or screw it to the bench first .

I have had excelent results just heating protions of this type of sheath to close it up a little to stop rattle or move the mouth of the sheath for better retention or easier draw. Still dulls blades though . That was the early days when I was still in denial that Cold Steel would NEVER produce a crap sheath for a great knife .

I've since had to amend my views . . . somewhat . . . .

PS : I have had to heat up these sheaths surprisingly hot to effect the smallest change . Keep that in mind.
