I suspected something wasn't right. Here's the front of the knife in question...

I saw it as well and that rang all kinds of alarm bells. So did the front engraving. Especially the fact that none of this was disclosed.

The front was an offering by CRK (sans the scripture reference) after encouragement from a forum member here. It would take a few minutes that I don't have this morning to track down, but there were discussions here about it.

I see its sold now.

It's back up for sale now.

I managed to find at least some of that last night, but didn't get to read it all. What I did read was interesting, though.

I've just gotten a lot more info that makes me glad as hell I'm not getting the Calvary. The seller is claiming the knife is "well over 10 years old", yet has a S35VN blade, among other things. Also, the seller is claiming that I'm a scammer since I have more than one shipping address stored with ebay. Well, duh, that's because ebay doesn't delete the old ones, and I've had my account 15 years. A scammer wouldn't have backed out without trying to get the knife. I just thought I'd warn anyone interested.

The auction has been shut down now, hopefully someone didn't buy it not knowing any better.

That was after market for sure, CRK are not in the habbit of leaving machined surfaces on their knives. That cut out would have been sand/bead blasted like the rest of the knife if it was from the CRK shop. That and the fact it was never offered as an option. :)

Well lone_wolf. It sold for $ 500. He completely revised his description. Someone must have enlightened him. I'm thinking it was all legit , other than someone machining the the factory handle for tip down carry.
