Did Emerson switch to a more coarse g10 on standard models for 2011???

I had a 2010 Mini A100 (traded, missed it) and recently picked up a new 2011 Mini a100 SF and the g10 is much coarser.
I also noticed the difference on my 2011 Micro Commander and Mini 15.

My 2010 Horseman was slightly smoother (since been traded).

EKI, did you switch to a different G10 pattern for 2011???
I'd love to get a response from Ernie himself :)
 
Yes, the G10 is coarser on some 2011 models. However not all 2011 models have that. I have a 2011 CQC15 with coarse G10 and a 2011 Super CQC7 without it.
 
The Roadhouse and Super CQC 7 I got this year have "normal" G-10, but the pair of CQC 7 V's I got have thicker rougher G-10. I thought the tan G-10 was the only one different. I like the new G-10 better.
 
Just visited the emerson table at the NYCKS and this was my impression of the g10. Much coarser then on the Commander that I purchased a few months ago.
