Did GEC ever make a 2 blade Spear/Pen #85 EO in ebony?

Unfortunately no they haven't. The only 2 bladed #85 EO GEC has ever made was the 2011 BF Knife. All the other #85 EOs have been single bladed.

That is correct. The EO notch would only accommodate a short secondary; such as opener.

Yep, that's why I had to go ahead and get one customized to satisfy my desire for a 2 bladed #85 EO in Ebony :D

Any day I can show this baby off is a good day! :D Here are some pics and link to the thread I started when I received it: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1017146-Easy-Open-Jack-Brothers

Vic,

Thanks for bringing the thread on over, and especially the pictures.

I clearly didn't pay enough attention the first time you posted this.

As I glanced at the top of your first picture this time and then started scrolling, I falsely assumed the knife on the right was a straight GEC production knife.

The whole thing happened fast, but my progression of thought was pretty much,

"Yeah, but let's see you try that with a Champl- ohmygolly."

You're a brave man-- with a tremendous outcome.

I will take it!! Kidding, but that really is one awesome knife. I could see that one being a lifelong carry. Awesome photos too.

Thanks Sarah and thanks Kevin! I guess it was a bit of a gamble to go modifying an already amazing knife that the newly minted JBF Champlin and Sons Cutlery Co. created, but I think Kevin's quote says it all, in my head I wanted a knife that I would be happy with for the rest of my life and as soon as I saw that the Champlin knives were going to be all steel with the pen in front of the clip AND ebony! I knew it had to be that one and no other knife would satisfy, so I had to go for it. Needless to say, I am thrilled with how it came out and rest assured the day will come when I start to carry this beauty and once I do...I may never stop :D

I wanted a similar knife and ended up modding my Green Briar Bone into an EO with a round file and some sandpaper. It actually turned out very attractive imo.20130203_104242.jpg
But the single blade EO with the match strike long pull is my grail. . .someday.
