Did I bring too many knives to work today?

One of my buddies here at work asked me how many knives I had on me today. The answer was a bit embarrassing. On my person, I only had three- one on my keychain (Vic minichamp)- one clipped in my pocket (Sebenza) and one in a sheath on my hip (GEC Moose). Not too excessive, at least by the standards of BFC. But I had these in my bag:

Is that too many to be carrying around?
The sad thing is, that's just the Cases. :o

 Wow I think you have a knife for EVERY possible situation and need..LOL

Tis' your birthday and you can do what you wish;)

Okay, I feel better now. I have two on me today, because I forgot two at home. I thought I was excessive.;)

Love those Swaybacks. I have one myself in Chestnut CV and it is the bee's knees. Great to have a pen blade and a straight wharncliffe combination.

What is the forth knife down in the center column--a shadow Peanut?

Thanks for sharing and keep 'em sharp.

Yup- that's a shadow Peanut alright. Circa 2001. Somebody posted one in a "shadow pattern" thread here a while back, and I felt the need! It took me a while to track that one down. I like it! :) I can't bring myself to carry or use that one, it's too scarce. Everything else I have is rather pedestrian, I'm afraid. Users all.

The scale on that is really nice--great color and contrast. I have Peanut with blued blades also, but mine is pedestrian therefore a user. Yours is really unique.

As long as you don't come out on the show "Hoarders" on A&E, I think you are fine. :D

That is a lovely collection though!

I usually carry one or two on me personally. A slipjoint in the front pocket or coin pocket and possibly a pocket fixed blade in the back pocket with my handkerchief.

No hawkbill? You're not ready for anything yet. ;) That's a couple more than I usually carry.

Probably, but who's countin :D

...and another thing, you may already know this, but the child on your avatar is potentially the cutest kid in the world...just sayin ;)

I thought I was bad with 2 on me, 1 in my pack, 1 in my car console and 2 machetes in the trunk.

What KIND of bag do you take to work:eek:

Padded knife-roll?:D

Nice Large Stockman there in Amber, got the same myself just two days ago,big knife but surprisingly not bulky or clumsy:thumbup:

One of the nicest ways to store and carry slipjoint knives I've found. It has neat little elastic holders for each of the knives, and is well-padded.

I didn't show ALL of the knives I have with me today. Just the Cases. :p There are a few in there that aren't Traditional forum appropriate.

Sweet stuff man. I'd love to see your GEC collection...

Thanks! One of these days I'll get around to posting pics of my GECs. My collection is not terribly impressive I'm afraid. I'm small potatoes compared to a lot of other guys on this forum. I want to see Blues, or KnifeHead, or Bastid's collections sometime. I know they're holding.

How much does you pack weigh? And where in the world do you keep it so it doesn't "walk away" on you?

It weighs a lil' bit. :p There are a few fixed blades and such in there as well. I'm a fairly big guy, the weight doesn't bother me. I don't carry this many knives all the time- I'm not THAT big of a freak. I have my own office, which is locked if I'm not in it- I'm friendly with everyone in the building- and I'm in the nice part of town, so I'm in little danger from "sticky fingers". Woe to anyone I find in my office poking around. Georgia has the "castle doctrine"- it's open season on dirtbags here- with no bag limit.

Looks about right. That is one heck of a great set of knives. I am sure most of us have already picked out our favorites. I was carrying one today that looked kinda familiar.

See ya at Blade. I will be the one with tape on his fingers picking through all that CV. ;)

Thank you sir! Picking a favorite out of that lot is easier said than done. The one that sees the most use, and could be called MY favorite is one that most folks probably wouldn't expect. It's the little tangerine small stockman. I don't know if the stars were in alignment or what on the day the folks at Case put that thing together, but they sure did a great job. That little knife has done an amazing amount of work, has been back and forth to Korea several times, to Switzerland and back, and all over the US - and has taken on every task I've ever asked of her with a smile. You're not going to skewer a boar or peel a tank with it- but for everyday cutting, a small stockman is a pleasure to use. And NOBODY raises eyebrows over that cute little thing.

It's not the most manly knife in the world, but I sure do like it. The action is still silky smooth, with suprisingly good snap for a knife of its size. The jigging is very crisp, and the f&f is impeccable. It's probably the best-put-together Case that I own. I have no complaints about "tru-sharp" blades. They hold their edges plenty well for me. And they're a breeze to sharpen.

If somebody could convince Case to make the small stockman in yellow CV- I'd be highly enthusiastic. :D I have a bit of a thing for yellow CV, as you can probably tell.
