The local Gander Mountain had a huge clearance sale today, so my friend and I went over and had a look at some of the knives. Well, they had a Benchmade TSEK 440C, partially serrated blade for $59.99 on clearance. Then, there was a 25% discount on it, so it came out to be $47  .

So, I jumped on it and I LOVE this knife. I can't believe how smooth that AXIS lock is and how absolutely solid the lock-up is. Was that a good deal, I heard that the TSEK has been discontinued--anyone know why?

Also, I got a Cold Steel 3" voyager fully serrated for $15. I thought it was a good deal, but upon close inspection, some of the serration teeth are slightly bent. It will still cut like crazy, but can anyone tell me how to sharpen them? I'd really appreciate it because I plan on putting this knife through some hard use.

Thanks for reading, Jeff

Lansky has a dog bone shapener especially for Cold Steel serrations, it should cost about $5-9 I guess.

Awesome, thank you very guys. I love getting new knives. Now I just need another AXIS...
Thanks again, Jeff

Considering nobody else seems able to scare up a TSEK for under $80 (if you can find one!), you did very, very well indeed. Heck, any cheaper and it might be considered larceny!! ;D

I did want a plain edge, but I can't complain; the design of the handle really lets me choke up on it for precision work. Great knife!

Oh, and Esav, thanks a lot for the tip about steeling the voyager, it worked wonderfully.

Thanks, Jeff
