Gday guys...i was in an antique shop today, checking out the usual array of old chipped blades with no points etc..When the proprietor produced a box of assorted (new?) knives...i walked outa the door with these Kershaws...an Opinel,Wenger and an Eka....all unused but no boxes....I paid NZ$100=$83 USA for the lot....i like to think i got a good deal but realise this is the forum to find out...So did i get ripped???....All comments welcome........All Kershaws are Kai Japan marked.......FES

11 quality knives for $83? I'd say you did great! Those aren't necessarily "high end" knives, but they're all quality knives made by great companies.

Very nice price for this lot.
Intresting "multitool" from kershaw on top picture.

Thats what we in the states call The F**king Jackpot!!!!!

Nice score, and they look so clean and new.

Guys, thanks for the good feedback. Its good to have a win every now and then aint it???....Im not familiar with (KAI) made Kershaws as all my others are USA made, but i must say they are VERY nicely made.....with thanks .................FES

Can you list any model numbers from the knives? They should all have 4-digit numbers on them (usually on the blades). And you said that they say "Japan" on them, correct?

You did very well. The combined MSRP for all of those (based on the last year they were available for purchase) is $331 (that comes out to about $41.50 per knife).

But the good stuff is the age of some of them.

The 2002 Chum was discontinued in 1990.
The 3020 Sarge was discontinued in 1988.
The 2010 Rustler was discontinued in 1987.
And the 2050 Rancher was discontinued in 1987.

So some of those knives are at least 25 years old, if not older.
