I think I did something stupid or that is how it is supposed to look. But I read that you could use vinegar, so as stupid as I am tried it.
I'm afraid it is rust? Really a newcomer at knife modding..

Nah. Nothing's wrong. A patina is basically a controlled rust. Just remember (BK-2, right?) is a 1095 high carbon steel and it can rust on you, so some oil is a must for basic care.

I used grapefruit to patina mine. Some areas it's almost like rust in color.

Good looking patina. I am not sure the pic hue or my eyes but could those deeply blacken spots be rust/pit?

I see it. The same thing happened to me when I used vinegar the first time. That little bit of rust is because common white vinegar in is only about 30% concentration the rest is water. I rubbed the rust off mine with a little honing oil and a wash cloth. I've gotten decent results with spicey brown mustard.

I used good ole Frenches yellow mustard on a set of ontario carbon steel kitchen cutlery for one of my granddaughters wedding presents. Doing that gave the knives a patina that will prevent rust from wrecking the blades. I told her to just wash by hand and use some olive oil to recoat the blades after use and cleaning. AFAIK they are still using them daily.
