I wanted a good diving knive to attach to my harness and I decided to try the H1 steel from Spyderco. I'll do cold fresh water and salt water dives.

4" Closed. 6-13/16" Overall length. 3-5/8" blade. 3-7/16" blade. H-1 Blade steel. 2.6oz.

So? What do you think?

It's not intended as a diving knife of course (no prying, screwing,...). But as a knife around or in water it will serve you VERY well. And the blade won't rust.

DaedalusX,
Welcome to Bladeforums!!! :)

You always do well when you add a Spyderco to your collection. Let us know how it does in the long run.

excellent choice. I also scuba dived and always wanted a few knives on my person. Having a large fixed diving knife is good, but most of the time they just plain suck in cutting ability.
I should affix the tasman on a short string so you can reach it with both hands above waistlevel. This is the ideal knife to cut yourself free from old fishingnets, lines etc.
A large divingknife is great for leverage and digging but for survival the tasman is your ticket back to the surface.

The Tasman won't let you down. Besides the incredible corrosion resistance, it is also a very tough knife. Mine is my "beach knife" as well as my dedicated beater knife, and go-to scarey-looking knife. You will find it is a versitile design.:p

Welcome to the Spyderco family and to BF! You chose an excellent knife. I have a Pacific Salt & Salt 1, that are my beach knives as well.
