Did I ever tell you about my Talwar

Gotta say I love my new 4 inch plain blade Talwar. This is my first cold steel product in 10 years (previously SRK and Bird & Trout). I have collected many knives in the 50-300$ range since then. Spyderco, Emerson, Boker, Benchmade, Microtech, ZT etc. But dam this is one sweet knife it is super sharp, super light, waved, and a ridiculously solid lock up. It is hands down my favorite regardless of price. I bought it on a whim before christmas as a cheaper knife I could slip in with some gifts for my brothers (kizer, Fenix flashlights, lone wolf) and am sure glad I did. I barely post and I believe this is the first Thread I have started but I figured it deserved my endorsement.
Dont be a snob this Aus 8 gets scary sharp and is more than adequate for any cutting. The only way you should turn this steel down is if you pay someone to sharpen your knives as it may cost you a few dollars more than a super steel down the road.
Now get out there and buy one.

Had the XL and it was a nice knife, especially for the price. Very light for its size.

Looks like a nice design. I have a mid-sized G-10 Espada and although it's too large for edc, it's a great design. The Talwar seems like a cousin to the Espada. I could edc the 4" version. It's on the to-buy list.

the talwars are great, i have two of them, one in plain edge and one full serrated. i also sanded down the g10 handles to make them much smoother and easier to take out of the pocket, it makes the knife feel even better.

I got the XL version...not really a practical knife for my needs, but it's a nice knife and I like it...though like the good Mr. Weaver09 says, sanding down the G10 is a definite improvement. Cold Steel does a fine job with their AUS-8, it's not a super steel but it sharpens easily and works for me, I have a lot of Cold Steel stuff, and never had any issues with it.

After giving these another look, I think it's safe to say I need a Talwar in my life.

Funny this came up.

My new knife will be here before the of the month; large Voyager clip point, as I'd been wanting a new beater. However, I just looked at the Talwar the other night and now I'm seriously kicking myself for not ordering it first! Coming from an FMA background, I'm a fan of the "pistol grip" angle of the ergo's and everyone who's had say it's an all-'rounder too.

I needed a bit of cash so I sold mine, but it's a fine (and fine looking) blade. I'll probably try to get another one at some point in my life.

Oh man, I know all about that struggle! I just sold my Buck Marksman (among other blades) to get some cash for doctor bills. I'll pick up a Talwar sometime this year.

Just received a Talwar today in a trade... This is my first CS in several years and my first tri ad lock. The fit and finish is flat out amazing for the price and Demko is a knife genius.
