looks good; reputable seller, nothing to indicate it is fake.

but, there are some forgeries out there that are very difficult to distinguish from the real thing.

Awesome, Im always weary when buying used, so this puts my fears at rest. Now, onto find a cheap Super Commander.
 
If it's a fake it's a pretty darn good one.
Comparing it to my Mini-Com the only suspicious thing I can see is the texture of the G-10 looks different than that on any of my Emerson's. All of mine have G-10 with a much more subtle pattern and texture while the one in the photos on Ebay looked like a deeper, rougher brick-like pattern, where one row of rectangular shapes overlaps the one below like bricks in a wall.
I couldn't read the numbers under the thumb disk. Were they 1669?
My Mini-Com is a 2009. Maybe the scales on that particular knife was normal for the run your purchase came from. Maybe it was rescaled at some point, though it seems unlikely.
If Haze or Lycosa check it our they'd be able to give a more definitive verdict.

I was watching that one too. I think it is a GREAT deal.

The seller started it at 99, then lowered to 89, and then 79. If it went to $69, I wouldn't have been able to resist any longer! :)
 
I'd say you got a great deal! The G-10 looks the same as on my Mini Com, FWIW.

Emerson started using a more aggressive G-10 on many of their folders in 2009 and still uses a more coarse G-10 on some of the 2010 versions.
