Just purchased this using the "Buy it now" on Ebay. Description is Mint, 1960s Voss Cutlery, Hen & Rooster. The knife just called out to me. Pics are fuzzy, but looks like a really sweet knife. Anybody knowledgeble on these, and can tell me whether or not the knife is worth $120? If the description is accurate, this was made well before A.G. Russell owned the company, so it should be of pretty good quality.

Only "hosing" would be to cool off that hot little beauty. :D

If all is as discribed, that's a nice catch, I'd say. A real "Pearl."
Bada, bing.

If it's a Voss, it is definitely one of the older ones - before AG Russell bought the company.....I don't know if "Voss" definitely dates it to the 60's (it might) but definitely mid 70's or earlier, during the company's "golden years".

As to value....AG Russell used to get HUGE prices for these when listing in his monthly "Cutting Edge" list of knives for sale.....this one probably would have sold for upwards of $250. OTOH I don't know of anywhere else where you could get such prices.

Thanks, Guys. That's kinda what I thought. I knew what A.G. says they're worth, and what I'd have to pay elsewhere. I only hope it's half as nice as A.G. usually describes them to be. It will be carried, that's for sure. I'll carry it in a leather pouch, but I'll still carry it. :)

I would say you got you a nice little slip joint! I think the price is good. They are nice, I have seen them in person.

All of the ones that I have owned from that era have been extremely nice knives, way ahead of anything out of Solingen today. Forged carbon steel blades, properly hollow ground, and perfect blade action, fit and finish.

If you go over to the "other forum", AG himself may be able to tell you the real value of that knife. He has a forum over there. Also like to add that you have yourself a very nice knife, I don't go for MOP all that much, but that one is sweet.
