Hey everyone! Pleased to tell you I picked up my first spyderco. I went to the tanner gun shoe in town with a Buddy and after looking for some zts and crk with no luck, I found a Calypso Jr with a VG 10 blade. A friend a while back said that if I ever saw one I should pick it up because they are nice but lightweight. Long story short after checking on my phone to find out what they retailed for I could find almost no info on it because it was discontinued. So I went with my gut and talked the dealer down from $70 to $60 on the little guy (after I tried to get him to sell me his yojimbo) and walked away feeling I had won.

What I want to know is did I just raped over a cheap spyderco? Or did I find something worth carrying for $60?

Thanks in advance,
Alex.

I'm no expert and could be wrong but I think you did well ? I've heard it talked about hear and there so there has to be something to it!

U paid less then msrp for a spyderco made in 97/98. You did fine and it should cut as well if not better then a many

Quick check of sold listings on eBay indicates that, if the knife is plain edge, you did quite well and, if it's serrated, you didn't get robbed.

Holy crap that thing looks awesome. It still amazes me that even though I think I know a lot about most of the historic models, I can still be surprised by one every now and then.

Man I love Spyderco.
Yeah man.I'm digging it. Too bad it didn't have a box for if I wanted to sell it in the future.

Don't sell it, you will regret it. Looks like you got a good deal for sure. Let us know what spidie you get next. Haha.
