I just bought a Native with the S30V blade, well, it will be mine when UPS delivers it. I bought it without holding it as I could not find one in my area, however, I liked the looks of it. Plus, not only did everyone had some nice things to say about the design of tha Native, I love the fact that it is S30V. Keeping all of this in mind, somehow the Scorpius slipped right past me. I know it is VG-10 and although I like S30V better, VG-10 is still darn good. It's just that the Scorpius looks like a heck of a knife too, and NO, I can not buy both of them (lets just say limited finances and I'm partial to fix blades). So here I sit, a Native on the way and a Scorpius staring back at me from the web. Anyone care to chime in before it's to late, I think I can still change my order . . . but I like the S30V steel . . . and the Scorpius is SS only (give me something a little stickier) . . . . but that handle and choil look perfect on the Scorpius . . . come on, anyone with both? :( :(

I cant comment on the scorpius but will say that the Native is probably the most usefull blade I own. I bought it on impulse one day when I had some money burning a hole in my pocket. I didn't really want or need it but just got it anyway. It spent a few months in it's box, unused. Gradually it has worked it's way into use and now I carry it nearly every day. It has great ergonomics, is eaqually comfortable clipped to a pocket or just loose in the pocket and it is very solid. I think you will enjoy the native.

The S30V Native is an inspired choice, I think you'll be pleased of it. OTOH, a less slippery Scorpius could be the Dodo. Similar handles shape but in G-10, ball lock and S30V blade :)

Native is definitely better IMHO.

Scorpius is more slippery, and heavier. But Native, especially the S30V variant is one of those rare things that fits everywhere. My first Spyderco was a Native with a GIN-1 steel, and I loved it. Now it is replaced by the S30V variant, and it is even better. It really is one of those knives that if you don't carry it for a while and then stumble on it you'll immediately ask yourself why in heavens have you been carrying all this other stuff when you have had this in your drawer all this time... :)

It's still my favourite, even after all this time. Blade shape, the point, the thumb grooves, and the web pattern on the handle...Yum! :) Definitely better than a Scorpius (again, IMHO).

I hadn't even heard of the Scorpius until a few seconds ago - just checked it out  I bought my first spyderco about a month ago - an s30v Native, and then bought another one for my son the very next day ! Then I spotted a vg10 Matriach that I had been after - ended up getting two - one for the other son. Interesting though I also found a SS AUS-10 Native with a combo blade which then became my favorite........well at least until yesterday - just got myself a Millie......just don't tell the wife - I now have fun every morning - deciding which one to put in the pocket ;)

So as has already been mentioned - I don't know anyone who has only one spyder
