Did I just spot a fake?

This doesn't look rite to me. The blade coating looks too smooth and the handle fasteners don't look like the ones from Busse.

Busse made the AK a very long time ago with smooth bolts. That is a circa mid 90's blade made of A2 steel. very nice

I didn't see the auction but you should definitely use some discretion since scaring away a buyer could cost a seller a few hundred $ on an item like that, especially if you don't know what you are looking at, and it seems like the guys that did see it all said it looked legit.

Like i said, i didn't see it, but it could have been somebody selling one of their favorite things to pay the bills.

If you don't know, just leave it alone or do some research. Throwing "fake" around is almost slanderous.

Not to try to start trouble with you Jaxx, but i'm pretty sure it's okay to post links to fleabay as long as it is not YOUR auction. It's done daily over at xxxxxxxxxxxxx forum and that is how the rules read to him and the rest of the mods over there. If it's a Busse forum thing i stand corrected. Humbly.

No worries, man. I'm not sure why it's OK in Mr.Levine's forum, except maybe because he and the regulars of that forum are into the information & identity side of all knives more than other areas, as that is (one) of Mr. Levine's specialties & areas of expertise.

There are a lot of pix of this particular AK. If someone wants to host the pix and post them here, I believe that would be fine.
