Did I miss something or did everyone else? Anything wrong with this knife?

A Schrade Loveless RL-2 came up for auction and I successfully sniped it for the starting bid. No one else bid on this knife.

My idea was to flip it and make a little money if I could get it cheap enough. I thought $200 for MIB with bling was very cheap for this model.

The thing is I expected at least a couple other people to try and get this knife for 2 bills and now I'm not sure if I got lucky or screwed up. Please check out this auction listing and tell me if you think I missed something.

Do you see anything wrong with this example that would stop it from selling at the prices other Loveless examples have fetched?

What do you guys think I can get for it?

Any and all comments welcome. Please help me out on this one.

I think you got a good deal, if i would have seen it i would have bid on it, i have two now, there beautiful knives.

uh could it be you "think too much"?
sorry just couldn't help it. been way too busy to visit here and needed the smile. at least i smiled?

Dave, I think 200 BIN is a very good price IMO, I have seen these go for 350 plus and that was 4-5 years ago, Only the Schrade D'Holders go for much more.

Hi Dave -- Nice One with all the goodies!:thumbup:

I've got a similar one, Custom Hunter 2 -- CH-2. Great feel in the hand.
I think mine is from a 5000 pc run.

Pretty sure yours is from a shorter run - just can't seem to find the numbers just yet. And it's a Loveless collaboration to add to the coolness.

You've got a nice piece of work there, Dave.
Real good chance on reaching your goal IMO

Dave, You did well which really reflects the lack of buyers in the current market. I sold on Ebay a RL-2 Mint with all bling and with very low production number in 2009 to a New York investor for AU$900 which at that time was worth about US$850. He was happy and so was I!!,since I had originally purchased it for US$100.He was an investor that seemed to buy items that he considered would appreciate and I guess anything Loveless could be expected to, particularly now since his passing. Those investment monies have dried up during the past few years....Your knife is genuine and has all the right bling...my advice hold on to it as it should appreciate further on what you have paid IMO...and its a great knife anyway to behold....Hoo Roo

Thanks for the comments and observations guys. I guess I got lucky on the timing and no one else was on the hunt for one of these last week. I'm still surprised that no one else offered up the starting bid. Right on!

So, Basically what I'm seeing here is a Schrade PH1 that is apparently a Lovelace design?
The only difference I see is the Lovelace name and paperwork?

Apart from different shaped sheath belt holder, different brass cross guard shape, together with distinctly different tang shape, different rivets, different blade grind, different blade etch together with serial number, different tang stamping different handle material and different lanyard holes <brass to the Loveless> you could say their own mother wouldnt be able to tell the difference.....

Dave, I think you got a GREAT knife. Real collectable apparently.

Thanks. I guess mine is just a run of the mill Schrade then. ;)
I'd like to see the two of them side by side, or better yet have them both in hand. :)

Here's a link to one of my favorite PH1-type knives. Birds-eye maple makes for sweet looking handle:

Thanks Dave. I had a better look at the differences between the PH1 and the Lovelace. There are things like the rivets and scales, but they do seem to be the same style pattern, albeit loosely. ;)
Thanks for the link, and enjoy your new knife. :)

Thanks Bruce, for the record it's "Loveless" not "Lovelace".
