The older I get the more I prefer a nice thin blade and have been wondering lately if I should have jumped on the Busse-Kin Elmax blades.

For anyone that has them what are your current thoughts ?

I've got one of the 3.5 Busse steak knives in elmax. It is an excellent little blade. I sure wouldn't mind having one of the ScrapMax 340's, or (dreaming here) see Busse turn out an elmax version of an anorexic Basic 4.

I got a few Elmax blades from Busse compound. They nice and thin, very light. My AD probably gets the most use, I just like the size and how it feels in hand.

Sadly no Elmax from the Swamp yet.

I've been happy with a SYKCO ScrapMax 460 - thin blade (0.095") and very thin grind (~0.010") than makes for an exceptional slicer for bleeding and butchering goats  Pretty good for cutting up cardboard and the like as well. I haven't tried it filetting fish, but will get there sooner or later. Pics:

Those are the ones that caught my eye, they look the perfect thickness !

Pit, so far all the Elmax knives coming out of Busse compound are the same thickness.

I think elmax would be nice for a Busse folder that we've all been craving for.
