I have a JCK Original, KF Hattori chef's knife.
The green paper inside says it was a custom series designed for enthusiasts.
They were supposedly made available at JCK www.japanesechefsknife.com, but I don't know how to tell which knife it is.
The paper says it's a VG-10 series, but I don't know the handle material.
Is there a way to tell that?
Paperwork indicates a 2007 purchase of a Hattori Forum FH-4 Santoku 170 mm, but it does not state which version of the "4" this knife is. Seems the handle material changes the series letter?
The paper says to come to www.knifeforums.com, but that doesn't exist. Was this forum once that one?
Does anyone know how to tell more about this EXACT knife...??

Those KF (Kitchen knife Forum) knives were a project I believe done by Koki of JCK where design and features were
gathered from members of the Kitchen Knife subforum within Knifeforums and based on those suggestions, the knives were
made by Ichiro Hattori. Eventually the Kitchen Knife subforum closed and some of the members started the present
Kitchenknifeforums.com. Then later, Knifeforums itself closed. But that series is still sold as the FH "Forum" Knives.

Don't know about the "4" designation. But current models use "L" for linen Micarta,
"A" for African Blackwood and "W" for White Corian.

I had a 270mm suji. I bought as a pattern. Nice knife. They were considered by some to be one of the better VG10 kitchen knives IIRC. Some folks get the HT right with steel, others not quite so much.

The Hattori FH series are one of the few solid VG10 chef knives made in Japan. The vast majority
are Warikomi (San Mai) constriction with a VG10 core.
