Did Microtech fix the clip on the DOC?

Hey, any Microtech fans know if they fixed the clip on the S30v version of the DOC flipper? Specifically, model MT-153-1-S30V

If not, is there any chance Microtech would update the clip under warranty (or at the very least remove it)
 
I don't know if they did or not. My CPM-154 steel, blue model dated 12/13 has this clip. It can hurt your hand a little if you try to grip it, so it does. But, I find no problem griping it so my hand doesn't contact it anyway. If you want to remove it there's a dealer (BladeHQ) sells the bits for in the 20 something dollar range.

They did modify it after people complained. It's still not great but it is less offensive than the original version.

Which models got fixed? I just ordered one from gpknives and I'm hoping that it's one of the newer clip versions.
 
I think they revised the clip over a year ago so I would imagine any DOC you buy from a popular vender like gp would have the revised version.
 
They shortened the end but I still don't like it, I took mine off and bent the end so it's parallel with the handle....much better in the hand.
 
It's still not my favorite clip by a long shot, but yes its now been fixed (for a while). You can call the folks at GP to confirm...they're good folks to work with. You'll love the DOC!
 
I'll have to give them a call then. I'm just concerned because the picture they have on the product page appears to be the older... very aggressive clip that bites into your hand. I don't know if this knife is just some old stock GPknives had lying around or what. I probably should have asked before purchasing, but that's what I get for impulse buying.
 
2013.. I would say it is likely the bad clip and in s30v.. If so you probably have the old clip.. I have 2 doc dated 8 and 9 2013 and they have the old clip.

Then again whether it is bad to you is a preferance.. Just for reference, the s30v was only offered in those couple month's.
So it will be rare in the future..
