hey saw some posts on this and another forum a week or so ago, they indicated REKAT was outta biz, sold to another knife co (maybe cammilus???) and now the phones disconnected, etc. whats up???

i also noticed on pat crawfords site that he states his rights to the rolling lock are fixing to run out.....

so whats up with REKAT?? did they finally die, or what???

with my usual timing, i got a pocket hobbit in a swap last week, and its like 'gritty' when ya open/close it. were would ya get service if they are outta biz? or would ya ........

thanks for the info

If that means that Camillus can start using the rolling lock then I am OK with it. :) That is, if the rumor is true. Maybe we can get some confirmation?

If it is true I am glad that a good company bought it.

The rumor I have heard from a Benchmade knife collector friend of mine
is that Benchmade bought the Rolling Lock from REKAT. I don't know how
true that is, but at this point does anyone really know what is up with REKAT anyway?

Not sure if REKAT is outta the biz or not. I too love my Pocket Hobbit. It was gritty when it first arrived to. I adjested the pivot enough to make it able to be inertia opened in reverse grip. It smooths out a bit with use. It can be polished as quite a few have done with their rolling locks. To me, it ain't worth risking ruining the knife, especially now that REKAT seems uncertain to say the least.

I guess I won't be getting my warped, badly-ground Pikuni fixed anytime soon:eek: Nice design ... Bad QC

Terry,

A piece of advice. E-mail Rob Simonich and ask him what you should do. He is the designer of the knife and may have some around the shop. He is a great guy to talk with and doesn't want anyone unhappy with his designs. rob@simonichknives.com
