Did Schrade make anything with a Wharncliff blade?

Aside from the 3rd Generation knives, did Schrade ever make anything else with a wharcliff blade? I've really taken a liking to the wharncliff, but can't find any other Schrades I would EDC that have one. I looked through the Collectors-r-us site and didn't see any, but as usual, it's quite possible I overlooked something.

Thanks,

Dave

Although small Dave the 44OT has one, sort of.

I think if you look at the second picture in Waynorths Wicked Bone Collection in the 80 thread, that muskrat at the end has a long wharncliffe blade. That is the Hawbaker I covet.

Thaks for the feedback, guys! I have a 44OT, but it's my only one and I want to keep it nice. Hal, you're right about Waynorth's knife. That thing is NICE! I also like the Schrade Cut Co. whittler you found in the catalog, Russell. Something tells me BOTH of those will be hard to find, and if/when I ever do, I probably won't want to carry them daily. Guess for an EDC wharncliff, I'll have to stick with the Case Tony Bose Swayback Gent and Jack knives I alternate with my Schrades.

Yes sir. Both of those are hard to find knives. It is fun to look in the old catalogs and see what all they made. If you look at the price lists, there are even more.

Schrade Walden also made a small stainless two blade knife with a warncliff blade and a bail for Lilly , a medical co. G.M

Do you have one, or a picture of one G.M??
I'd sure like to see it, if you don't mind.

Here is one of those wharcliffe serpentine sleeveboards in a two blade.
The swell center knife with it has an interesting blade. Schrade called it a "Zulu Spear" blade; a bit of advertising hype I guess. Tony Bose calls it a modified wharcliffe because of the long arching back, and slightly raised point. It works almost as well as a wharncliffe. I carry one shaped like it, in a different knife.

Sweet looking knives, Waynorth! More to add to my wishlist. But I really like that 2-blade sleeveboard. Thanks for posting them!

Some four-blade variations from one of the old catalogs.

I'd like to have one of those 9706T Senators, with the MOP handles, milled liners, and tipped bolsters. I think Roland or Larry303 might have one in a mahogany box.

I agree Dave. That sleeveboard is a beauty, and a real nice pattern. I like the Zulu Spear term Charley, especially for a knife that is likely pre WWII. Both of those knives are ones I don't recall you pulling out before. Interesting blade combinations. As usual I like the handles and especially the lighter colors. I would assume those are both single spring? Dandies!

Charlie, thanks for posting those rare beauties! We're a lucky bunch to see actual photos of those models :thumbup::thumbup:

Hi Guys

Bumped an older thread.

I just got the same model as Dale shows in the previous post - basically brand new
Schrade Walden NY USA on the spear blade
But no model number on the opposite side or the lance blade or file

Can anyone pin a model number to it? THANKS!!

Howie

Cant answer your question Howie.
Seeing this original thread question I am surprised one of the most famous Schrade Warncliff blade knives was not mentioned..
Only 1000 produced in 2002 the Schrade Joe Kious SJK1 collaboration knife was really something special, and a production that both Schrade and Joe Kious could be rightly proud. Ladder damascus blades, one being an extremely sharp warncliff, reverse congress pattern with old green jigged bone handles, dovetailed and coined bolsters with exquisite Kious rope filework to the backsprings.
Did Schrade produce any other knives with ladder damascus blades?.
For anyone interested there are up close and personal photos of mine on Larry Vickery's site, Collectors Corner Larry H Downunder page 7 of 18 photos....
Warncliffe blades like on the 4 blade 44OTin one of the above postings are always the blade most likely to cut you I have found they are so sharp by design.
Hope you get your answer Howie.. Hoo Roo

Larry,
When I posted the question, I had never heard of the Kious Schrades. I have since acquired one each of the red (got the red one from Joel, aka gradall) and the green bone handled versions, and as you say, they are extremely fine knives. I'm gonna have to dig them out for pics sometime.

Howie,

I'm not sure that there were model numbers for those Lilly knives. Their knives were special ordered on a nearly yearly basis for the graduating classes of medical schools, sometimes as many as 30,000! The four blade versions were taken off the "46" pattern, but they did have three and two blade knives made as well, all with the smooth stainless handles and engraved name.
