well i was getting ready to finish this knife up today, and since i intendid it to be a camp/pack knife, i thought id do some testing with it. the first couple pics aren't that good as they were from my phone out behind the shop. Ill get some better ones in a bit.

the knife is forged 5160, it was 3x's quenched and 2x's tempered. It worked ok for the fuzz sticks, but i think it was more my technique than anything, i kept cutting them off the main stick...?? guess i need more practice. Needless to say i did get the fire started no problem, used a small piece of steel wool in the middle of the shavings, and she fired right up....i used some maple i shaved down into lil pieces, and some pine bark once it got going. so anyway, heres my fire, and some wood i was chopping on.

Good work on the fuzz stick. It caught of fire. That knife is a nice looking piece of steel. I bet it makes a mean little camp knife.
