did some more work on the spalted maple scales on my 10

Having heard of the super glue finish for awhile I decided to try it.
Wow I like the results.
10 coats each side, sanded with 800 grit and then buffed on a white cotton buffing wheel with red compound.


 
Hmmm, interesting. Looks good. Is this wood stabilized? Are there some knots or something near the center of the handle(2nd pic)??

I believe this is the first time I've ever seen a knife with super glue finished handles. What made you go with it over a traditional finish?
What type of glue did you use anyway?

I would hate to be the guy that picked up the knife not knowing you were waiting for the glue to dry.:p
