I think it's pretty safe to say that it is Spark's way of using visual humor to get everyone's attention about his reviewing the policy. That title is gonna be popping up all over the forum and members will be zooming here to fine out what happened.
It's a pretty smart move on Spark's part. Funny as hell!

It's kinda like the traffic advisory sign that says: Caution - Delays and Extreme Frustration Ahead! It's obviously meant to get some humor in the situation.
I'm not sure it should be fixed - the search problem, not Spark - and I think he should take his time to come up with the best solution. It's an interesting quandry; who's doing all the searches, are they important to the forum, etc. It is a testament that some consider this an important source of specialized knowledge.
On the other hand, if it's general what kind of knife is this, and how can I make a buck off it on ebay, should we allow that? Is it part of what the forums do, provide an research tool for the vast internet public who won't part with the gas money to look it up in Levine's Guide at the library? Is it our fault the trip would wipe out the potential profit?
Buying a basic membership here could be way cheaper.

Huh?!?!? $10 per year for Basic Membership "could be way cheaper." That's just a bit more "expensive" than a basic fast food meal plus dessert! And I don't have to mention that a basic fast food meal plus dessert doesn't last anywhere near a year. It works out to 2.7 cents a day. Yeah... that's a huge expense. I wasted more than $10 of time just responding to this...

I'm very inclined to agree!. I just signed up, if I can't afford three pennies a day for this place, then something be very, very wrong.
$10, as in a ride into the city, gas + mileage, a parking meter, your time, etc. Do that enough and search is really your friend. Or buy Levine's Guide.
The issue is, is the server capacity overtaxed because search is (ab)used too much by freebie members, or just a hardware issue? And how will the hardware issue get fixed, if not by the members who use search? Hardware costs money, searchers want timely results.
Imposing members-only search as a solution may just be the best answer.

This has something to do with the "SEARCH" feature??? 
Actually, from post #4, I think y'all are missing the subject - IIRC,this thread has to do with the ability to pony up $10 to change the title under someone's name, not to pay for "SEARCH"... Spark is merely reviewing the policy regarding that as several people seem to be whining when they get hit with a title they don't like, and who aren't willing to pay to join and play...
