Did someone win Indy 500?

All races have a winner .In this Indy 500 Hornish zipped ahead of Marco Andretti just at the finish line !! Can't get much closer than that.

Have you heard of those cutting edge inventions called television and the internet? Perhaps they haven't reached the coast.

Just kidding!

Sam Hornish Jr. beat the Andretti grandson by about 8 feet - second closest finish in history. Passed him on the front straight coming out of turn four; third place was Michael Andretti. Chickipoo whatshername finished about 8th or 10th.

cheers

Sam Hornish,Jr. passed Marco Andretti AT the finish line to win.
Won by IIRC,24/100's of a second.Second closest finish in Indy history.

It was pretty exciting, the second-closest finish ever.

When Hornish made an earlier late attempt at passing and couldn't pull it off, it seemed that he blew his chance. But in the last straightaway he sling-shotted past Andretti at the last possible second.

It's the only sporting event I watch.

Oh, you talking about the Danica Patrick show? :barf:

Sorry, couldn't resist. BUT she is a second year rookie, and yes, a good driver. Has no where near came to passing the test of time.

I just get tired of the hype because she is a girl. Ok, a georgous hot babe, but, oh, you know what I mean.

Danica Patrick is an excellent driver. I think she actually exercises more maturity and control than many of the male drivers.

It's too bad that a yellow came out while she was exiting the pits -- she had a good chance of winning.

Danica Cutiepie is a damn good driver and I think she HAS paid a lot of dues even if she hasn't yet passed the test of time at the top levels. She's been racing for around 15 of her 25 years.

I saw her on Regis & Kelly a couple of days before the 2006 Indy 500. They showed a picture of her at around 11 years old driving her kart right OVER another driver who checked up in front of her. The other driver was OK, though - in fact, the other driver was Sam Hornish Jr. I bet his revenge is tasting pretty sweet right now! :)

Now that O'm on the coast I don't here much about it.

Yes, the guy running the "Honda" engine.

Must be driving the Detroit guys nuts.

Yep, all Hondas this year - V8 engines that were running 10,000 - 11,000 RPM.

My Honda 2-liter only revs at 9,000rpm :(
