Did Spyderco Ever Build a Version of This Knife?

This one of my favorite knock around one-handed opening blades that doesn't need a hole that I wish Spyderco would build a modern version of.

I am at a total loss as to why the janisong can't be sold 8n the US. Especially since All other balis and autos. Foreign and domestic manufacturers

I don't see Spyderco ever considering this.

Making a modern version of this would be no more illegal than making any auto knife. I wouldn't mind seeing someone take a stab at a modern variant of this but I don't see it as Spyderco maybe BM.

A friend gave me a very similar looking gravity knife a while back but I can't find a maker's mark on it. Where your's says Bund, mine says "AES 79." Any idea what this refers to or where I could find out more about this knife?

It first appeared in WW II. I don't find much about it in the US knife press and forums. You might check with some of our German forum members or check to see if there is a German Bladeforums website which can provide more details. Most of the folks there speak decent English and will probably respond to any questions.
