Did Spyderco switch serration pattern?

I just got a salt of questionable quality and when looking at the serrations closely I noticed that the tips of some of the serrations are rounded and not pointed. Only one or two are pointed sharply like on my D3. Is their a reason for this? Also this was the first serrated Spyderco that I ever recieved that was already sharpened on the back side of the blade. I also noticed that the serrations are spread further apart. I'm not too happy with this one, it also had tons of blade play when I got it and the lock sits to one side. I had to tap it on the Anvil to tighten the blade. What's the deal?

Sounds to me like you might have a counterfeit. I figured it would just be a matter of time before some 3rd World Nation would start counterfeiting them. It's either that or you got on that slipped through Quality Control. :(

It was bought from a spyderco dealer and it otherwise looks like a Salt 1. I will find out when I go fishing this weekend if it's real or not. A non H-1 blade will certainly rust when I take it in the Gulf of Mexico. I firmly believe it's real. This is a weird one. I wonder if someone used it then returned it? That may be a possibility. Whatever, I bought it to use, so it's not the end of the world, but it certainly is not what I have grown accustomed to from Spyderco.
