Did the USPS Lose My Package?

This is something that has never happened to me before. I'm beginning to think that the USPS lost a package that was on it's way to me from another member of the forums. I checked the tracking information and it said that the package had been delivered to me over an hour ago. So I walk down to my mailbox, open it up and...no package or mail of any kind. It's now well past the time that mail normally arrives for me on Saturday. Never had it come past 12:30 - 1 PM. Time to be concerned yet?

EDIT: Sent the other party an email informing them of the situation

Did you check your porch or check with your neighbors? I have had them stick packages in odd places out of sight near the door. If it says it was delivered, I would be getting concerned.

Id wait until monday to make sure but if they had your package they have to at least leave you a note saying theyre holding your package at the post office for whatever reason

Yea, I checked all around the house and my next door neighbors haven't seen it that I know of. But then again, the older man that lives next door to me isn't exactly reliable as his memory and eye sight isn't the best in the world. The rest are people that come up from Florida (I think). Anyway, everything else is rental and vacation property. Considered popping open the whole darn row of mailboxes about fifty feet down the road from me, but explaining things if the cops show up isn't very high on my to do list (might do it any way). I don't know the package would've been left at the door (small flat rate box) when the mailbox is right at the end of the driveway (checked the front and back porch anyway).

Can't see why they'd be holding a couple small folding knives that are perfectly legal for me to have (Spyderco Dragonfly and Tenacious).

Ive had 1 be held because it required signature comfirmation

I've had packages from USPS say delivered despite them not coming until late that day.
I've also had my packages out for delivery only to not be delivered until the following day.
It's almost like a game :(

Yea, but like you said, they'd at least leave a note saying it was being held at the post office.

Sometimes I've seen it say "delivered", but they forgot to drop it off. I've had the mail man come back again a few hours later because he just forgot to drop it off.

Issue resolved. Seems there was a break down in communication between family members. Someone else grabbed the mail and took off into town with it and didn't bother to tell anyone.

Same thing happened to me. A week later someone took my package back to the post office. It had been delivered to 15 friendship lane instead of 15 fieldcrest dr. Luckily the person who recieved it was an 80 year old lady, and she didnt even open it. I have a feeling if it had been someone else, they would have had a boker albatros in their junk drawer. All of the more expensive knives i have shipped to me, i have the post office hold it for me so it doesnt even go out for delivery. I go to the post office and pick it up.

Not saying this is what happened to your package, but a couple of months back I ordered a SAK from a dealer in New Hampshire. I kept checking the tracking (way too often) and at one point it said it was out for delivery--in Keene, NH. I'm in Georgia. They caught the mistake pretty quickly and put it back on the truck and then sent it down to Jacksonville (nearest sorting facility, maybe?) and then back up into Georgia and finally to me. I still have a screen capture of the tracking page showing the adventure my knife had before it even got to me.
