I have been back through the exchange pages and note they did a BATAC LE but did they do a D/C BATAC? I have never seen one come up.....so I thought I would ask....particularly with black linen micarta...

Also I have only ever seen one example of a Tanker....were these military only? What sort of price do these go for?

Thanks guys...

Yes ..... The 2007 SE BATAC was DC finish - black linen was never an option for the BATAC

The Tanker was a mil-overrun model there were around 50 made

There is a Tanker A and Tanker PE

PE was a desert overrun . The A was snakeskin and OD blade ... I have seen some with serrations also...

There was also a Tanker Prototype released at the Chicago blade show years back..

I actually prefer the EURO4 ... This is a European release of the Tanker.. These are much more rare...

here is a pic.. of the EURO4 I have

Notice a dent on the edge towards the choil.... That was from a Battle Rat .. blade on blade impact... (don't even ask) It was an accident..

But to fix it I took a dremel and enlarged the choil retaining the factory shape... It looks and feels better than ever now...

Thanks UJ....what grips were on the 07 SE? Black/Grey like the 07SE FBM?

Yes, That is correct... Black/green G10

Instead of buying a TAC blade I recommend saving up a little extra and buy an original Satin Jack .. Its the best blade Busse has come out with in my opinion

I'd love to see a pic of the Tanker Proto.

There a Pic some where on my hard drive at home.. I'll check it out later. not for sure though... It was black paper . black coating with a crazy polished drop point and spine ... very cool

Tanker Price $450-$550 depending on condition is the current ballpark.. The Tan PE could fetch $600 I guess

Not too bad.... The Satin Jack is more pricey... Regular CG s go for $600 now :eek: The LE s anywhere from $700-$1000

UJ, you've had a few SJ's, what do you like better, the 3/16" or 1/4"?

I like them both !!!

The 1/4" holds its own for light medium chopping. It can also baton slightly better.. Regardless though the zero/convex edge on the 1/4" LEs is killer and makes a fine slicer... I have used that blade for a steak knife and it works very well although it is a bit heavy..

The 3/16" is a all out slicer.... I have a CG and it mics out at a skinny .168":eek: It also is very sweet for fine batoning

I am getting a few 3/16" Satin Jack LEs soon so I will be able to see how the zero/convex edge handles on the skinny ones...

U_J...put me down for dibs on one of your SJ's, preferably and LE. I WILL own one of those AND an ABALE one day. Oh, and I WILL get another Satin/Tiger Sabre SFNO.

Sounds good ! :) Once I get up to 10 SJ LEs I will consider parting with one.. Considering those are really the only Busses I am interested in now the wait should not be too bad ..

Here are a couple double cut BATACs you don't see every day.

Great picture Ken....that D/C Snakeskin knife looks awesome...is it a custom shop SFNO? The serrations on the spine look really interesting....have you got a closer picture of this one? Started looking for an Infi RMD size knife and still am giving it some thought...the SHSJ UJ posted a pic of looks superb...but that SS knife just "jumps" out of that collection....
