That's a lot of $$$ for a "retro" scout.
Queen makes the Tuna Valley brand.
That makes a lot of sense. For some reason, I thought GEC made the Tuna Valley knives.
Why go retro on the can opener using a blade style? There's a reason it has evolved.
There hasn't been to many evolutions in tried and true traditional knife designs. What blades have been improved in design or supplanted by newer designs? But in the case of can openers there has been quite an evolution to better openers. I was just commenting on a new knife being made with an old can opener design that has long been replaced by an improved design. I can see buying a vintage knife with such a can opener, but a newly made one makes little sense to me.The same could be argued about traditional pocket knives eh?
I know this is a really old thread, but thought I would respond anyways. I don't think the Tuna Valley brand are meant to be "users". They are made in limited runs, with highest grade material, to appeal to the collector. Adding a nostalgic retro design is just another way to make the knife appeal to a collector.
