I saw that KSF was promoting the Tuna Valley Scout in stag. This one has me drooling. Anyone order one?

Just a pattern you don't see being made much. Not counting the SAK. Case has got a jr and I have one. Nice little knife but nothing compared to what that Tuna Valley looks to be.

It sure looks a lot like the Schatt & Morgan Keystone model that Queen did. The blades look identical. Same for the bolsters.

The last scout I remember with 154cm blade steel were the AG Russell ones with rucarta. I have a black one that is a real nice edc, the scout pattern is one of my favorite traditional patterns.

Why go retro on the can opener using a blade style? There's a reason it has evolved.

The same could be argued about traditional pocket knives eh?
There hasn't been to many evolutions in tried and true traditional knife designs. What blades have been improved in design or supplanted by newer designs? But in the case of can openers there has been quite an evolution to better openers. I was just commenting on a new knife being made with an old can opener design that has long been replaced by an improved design. I can see buying a vintage knife with such a can opener, but a newly made one makes little sense to me.

I know this is a really old thread, but thought I would respond anyways. I don't think the Tuna Valley brand are meant to be "users". They are made in limited runs, with highest grade material, to appeal to the collector. Adding a nostalgic retro design is just another way to make the knife appeal to a collector.

All Traditional pocket knives are "meant" to be users. Some are "marketed" to Collectors.
