Did You See This List "20 Best Knives Ever Made"

What don't you agree with? What do you agree with? What makes any knife a best for you??

"Best" is so subjective. I've seen this and articles like it before, and generally don't pay them much heed. Might help to divide "best" into subcategories of purpose, durability, and the like. And even then, emotions creep up like nostalgia, shape/color/size preference, etc.

Yes I agree. Since the article is from a hunting/fishing magazine, I assumed they would be in that category.
Besides, they didn't list a Becker.:D

Yeah,i guess for hunting/fishing...maybe yet wouldn t take any of those to the woods.so as far as 20 best......in that category, maybe but in my opinion,HELL NO!

In a previous iteration, or possibly a different article in I believe the same magazine, the BK2 was listed.

Yeah, there's no bk9 on the list =) or a 16... or 4... or 2...or...

Also, is this right?

"Ka-Bar Marine Corps Fighting Knife: In 1943, the U.S. Marine Corps issued a knife to its fun-loving members. It was made by Camillus Cutlery Co. and stamped with their Ka-Bar trademark. Its equipment number was 1219C2."

Kinda. Elements of truth with stupidity mixed in.

The knife was designated the 1219C2 in Marine Corps contracts. It was designated USN MK2 for Navy contracts. Both versions were issued to both services. personnel. The first ones were delivered by Camillus in February 1943. Kabar, PAL and Robeson-Suredge also made the knives. Ka-Bar was never a trademark of Camillus. These were the only 4 companies to make the knives during WW2. That's the nutshell version.

Thanks for the summary. I thought "made by Camillus Cutlery Co. and stamped with their Ka-Bar trademark" was surprisingly wrong.

Never heard of this one. Crap, tried to post a pic. Diamond Blade?

I can't really argue with the rest of the list though. OK. If you want to argue just to argue, or just for fun...then you can. But it's a pretty good list.

Yep. That's the list. Everybody is always talking about the George Herron Model 6 Drop Point everywhere you go. Can't get a haircut or go in Autozone without somebody railing about the damn George Herron Model 6 Drop Point. Hell, I bet George sold twenty-five or thirty of those.

They really are beautiful pieces and I'd love to have one. I was just pissed the Cold Steel Bushmaster wasn't on the list.

I didn't see the BudK sword-cane either...
A good sword-cane should be near the top of that list!
