A while back I wrote about my deer hunting and the gutting of my deer with my 42. I just got done reading that thread again and it sounds like some think it is an amazing feat to gut a deer and still have the knife hair shaving sharp when you are done. I don't want to mislead anyone here, so I will tell you that all that is involved in gutting a deer is a 12 inch cut to spill the guts and a couple more cuts to qet the wind pipe and the lungs out. Any knife of half way decent quality should perform this task, and come though it shaving sharp.
I actually prefer an edge that is not shaving sharp. A rougher edge cuts through matterial more efficeint. The rough edge kind of works as a saw.
