Diesel vs. Blast . . . whose tougher of the two?

So, which of these two, the Leatherman Blast or Gerber Diesel, is going to last longer? which set of pliers is more effective? Are Leatherman's generally better than Gerber's?

P.S.: if I were to get either, how would I tighten the rivets? for this reason, is it worth the upgrade to a wave?

Out of the two I'd defiantly go with the blast. I've found gerbers MT's to be lacking in quality lately and leathermans are top notch. Leathermans warranty will also pretty much cover anything.

Although I haven't played with a diesel, but i'm just basing that off other gerber MT's ive owned/used.

The blast is a great tool but if you do have the extra $$ i'd go with the wave. As for the LM rivets, there are a number of ways people have made bits to fit them.

Gerber is large hunks of steaming Poo , go with the blast !
