Difference between blades on EKI Bullnose & Commander Karambit?

The folding Karambits from Emerson look interesting to me. However, I can't see the reason for the subtly different blade shapes on the Bullnose and Commander Karambits. Is one more suited for some task than the other??

I am looking for a SD knife which handles EDC duties easily. For that reason, I am steering away from the Combat Karambit. The blade on that one just seems purpose-built for one thing, and possibly difficult to use in everyday situations. I am a traditional, plain-blade type guy. Also, if I ever need to cut something with people around me, I try to avoid scaring the sheeple. Why am I looking at EKI, and this knife in particular? I place a priority on ease/quickness when opening*, when in a SD situation. If you can recommend something that will suit me well, I'm happy to listen.

Thanks.

*It is illegal to conceal-carry a fixed blade of any length in my state (WA). I am hoping to learn if it is also illegal to carry a folding knife in the open position while concealed.

The Commander has a slightly recurved blade. I find a recurved blade cuts small diameter cord or rope a little easier than a blade with a positive curve.

Emerson makes several models that shouldn't be too scary assuming you are waving it open.

Is one blade shape better suited to SD?

I certainly won't be waving any knife open around others, unless there is a specific necessity to do so. Regarding the other knives from Emerson... a lot of them are bigger than I want to carry (blade longer than ~3.3"). Also, some of the blade shapes are a little unusual for my tastes. After demoing some of their knives, I love the wave feature.

Having read about the possible dangers with liner locks on this forum, I'm questioning whether those are the best types of knives for my purposes.
