I have a Stryker and keep hearing great things about the Emerson CQC-7. However, they look very similar to me. Am I missing something?

Thanks,

They are very similar but they are not the same. First the CQC7 was designed by Emerson and the Stryker by Elishewitz. Also the Stryker usually has a hollow ground blade while the CQC7 is chisel ground. The tip on the Stryker takes a much more acute angle than the tip on the CQC7. Finally those Stryker which are hollow ground have the edge on the opposite side of that on the CQC7. If you don't know chisel ground means sharpened on one side only, the other side is flat. Such a design is supposedly a superior defensive design.

Also the CQC7 has either a tanto or spearpoint blade while the Stryker has whayt, Benchmade calls a "drop point tanto" blade.
I personally like the Strykers blade, there isnt much of a price difference but I I like CQC7 overall because emerson lets you take apart their knife to clean it while if you take aparyt the Stryker, the warranty gets vioded........

I myself was carrying a Benchmade 910SBT Stryker for a while until I discovered the Emerson CQC7B. Overall in my opinion the Emerson looks a lot better. The finish on the G10 handle is a whole lot better, the edges are rounded out. The handle also feels better in my hand. The finish of my knife is almost comparable to my Commander. Even the action is a lot smoother than the Benchmade. It is now my new daily carry knife. Overall, it's a whole lot of knife for the amount of money you pay for it. Here's a pic for you to drool over. It's my CQC7B with my Bushmaster AK Shorty in the background:
