Difference between Comp grade and Regular

Hey guys i just bought a Comp grade hellrazor from Stabber. and i ship off tomorrow. just wondering before i leave so this doesnt bug me. What si the differnce between the grades from busse. Is the competition the toughest and sharpest or what?

comp finish is uncoated and has lots of dimples and the decarb from heat treat left on, and they put a killer convex edge on them.
 
Regular is CG which means a coated blade. There are threads discussing the benefits of both. To summarize with the comp grade you will be subjected to excellent performance with a higher tendency towards rust. This is easily resolved with some elbow grease and some sand paper. The CG's are good to go but do not have convex edges and will have increased friction upon use due to the coating. I like the comps. They can be satined easily and already have a convexed edge. Can't go wrong with either really.
 
well im asking because i leave tomorrow for iraq and wont have my computer for 6 months. and i am going to use this hellrazor for everything. so how easily will it rust and should i buy a regular hellrazor to just to be safe? to bad i leave tomorrow lol
 
Keep It It Close And Well Coated . It Will Rust Fast . When I Got A Couple Of Comp Grade Knives I Washed Them Off With Dawn And A Scrub Brush And Before The Slabs Were Dry I Had Rust . Not What I Expected At All . Still Sanding As We Speak :eek: :eek: :eek:

Take some 400-600 grit sand paper with you and on your time off, sand it to a nice satin. It will keep you busy on down time if you have any and will keep the rust off. Iraq is dry enough that you should not get hardly any rust on the knife.
 
dam! looks like im getting another one lol. and yea ill do the sand paper. give me something to do on my 10 min break every 3 days lol.

P.s. Yall are among the nicest people ive talked to. BF is a awesome forum and i just wanted to thank everyone for taking the time to help people. Also yall understand what we do and it is a good feeling to know that my brothers arn't dieing for nothing.
