Hi

I've looked on those 2 knives on kershawknives.com, and they got the exact same length, weight, material etc. what's the difference between them? I know the Black Out one won the 99 blade magazine best buy award... don't know about the whirlwind.

Anyone got experience on any of them, which one would you recommend? thanks.

yeah, what a difference :-)
the black out is "award winner" and $6 more expensive... damn, 6 bucks more just to paint it black... maybe im missing something here... they also got a third knife (can't remember the name) that looks the same as well...

2Sharp is right. Slightly different blade, blade coating and holes. The steel is 440A. The third one is Blizzard - green handle, satin finish, holes but no torsion bar.

BTW: I like my Whirlwind

The Blackout has a Titanium Nitride blade coating which is why it is more expensive.
Chariot, do they sell any knife magazines in your town?

The Kershaw ads explain the particulars of the coating in question and the answers to some of your Q's in other posts are there. Makes for interesting reading too.
