Hi,

Could somebody explain the differences between the new GRN and Zytel? If I understand correctly zytel is essentially FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon). GRN is (Glass reinforced nylon). So what will the differences be between the newer SOGs that I will purchase?

There is no difference between the Zytel and GRN handles from SOG. It was only a naming change to material.

So why are the GRN handle knives more expensive than the Zytel knives?
This is on cheaperthandirt.com and it is the SOG Seal pups

If you look at both pages you will notice that the Model # and UPC Code is the same on both. The part # that the dealer assigns them is different. Sounds like the Dealer has an Almost duplicate add and needs to take one of them down. . . . There is another option: A dealer buys an item at a certain price. They are running low, order another shipment, but the price has gone up [inflation, cost of materials went up....]. A Dealer may sell the old stock at the old price along side the newer stock at the new price. I've frequently seen this at gun stores. . . IMO It sounds like something to take up with the dealer.

By the way, Welcome to Bladeforums!
