The EDC and the Paragee are designed with the same type of lock.
There is a world of difference in the design shape.
I like the frame style (IBL) type for lock for its strength. I feel its the strongest in the locking liner style . I use it on most all of the knives I make. Its just natural for it to show up on my factory colaborations. Both knives are great factory knives. Both have different features. The handle shapes and blade shapes are different on each. Those who know the Apogee handle shape may like its feel better than the EDC or may like the EDC better in the hand. The blade shapes are different also.
Both are utility designs an should work well on both knives.
The price point on the Paragee is a little lower (Taiwan made). The pargee has holes in it to lighten the frame and for grip, a clip designed by David Bloch, and my Apogee type thumb studs. The handle on the Paragee is pure function as is the Apogee. The Paragee will come in a few versions, serrated, plain edge, AUS8 blade steel.
The EDC is a little higher price point (USA MADE).
The EDC will come in many versions and price points. The EDC has my new thumb stud design, slots for grip and lightening the frame, great clip design with see through slots ect. Camillus has their lower price point models with 420 hc blade material plain or serrated. They also offer a 154 cm blade steel version that is a higher price point for the high end user. The EDC is pure function and very stylish to boot.
AS for the design style THE HANDLES and BLADE shapes they are different. Evolution in a knife makers ideas about how a knife should functions comes into play here. We all learn new things from day to day. The design time frame of the two knive should reflect this. The apogee design is two years old. The EDC design is 8 months old.
Here are pics of the factory and custom models of each knife. LOOK closer.
Each knife has its own arua.

I hope this clears up the confusion.
Both knives are great factory knives.
Pick them up and feel them in your hand. I feel one will be right for you.
ENJOY!
