Difference between SS and carbon Damascus?

Well, there are the obvious difference. Stainless is not that eager to rust but what about the looks?
That Devin Thomas Spirograph damascus that have been seen on Emerson knives in shows, is that SS or carbon?
Maybe someone has some pictures or know where there are that can demonstrate the difference....?
