Difference between the classic and 21

Can anybody tell me the difference between the two??? And maybe some pics?? I plan on getting one for Christmas.

The cosmetic differences I notice:

1)steeper frame bevel on the pivot end of the knife; it's not symmetrical and looks a little like a gothic arch; very attractive to me and the most apparent way to ID a 21

2) a single (rather than double) chamfer around the perimeter of the frame (i think early classics also had the single bevel)

3) sterile (no writing) on the lock side of the frame

4) a small chamfer on the edges of the blade jimping (and a few less "jimps")

there may be others.

i don't believe that the overall geometry/size has changed.

oh, and you now get a cool blue anodized lanyard bar (but it's really not part of the knife so it doesn't count :D)

what, 100 views and no comments??

No, you did such a great job in your explanation we're all speechless.

;)

and hey, it looks like you're picture might show another difference (but one that I couldn't get CRK to confirm by email)

if you look @ the "shoulder" of the hollow ground portion of the Larges, it looks like the 21's sweep back slightly whereas the classic's shoulder is at a right angle to the spine of the knife.

(OTOH, this could just be a grinding variation that has nothing to do with the 21...)

Wow...I didn't realize they had a third and fourth variation. Why the different models? Any functional differences between them; or are we talking only style? Which one do you guys think is the best, and why? Or is it merely a matter of handle preference and how it fits your hand?

Thanks!
