I own a BM-E It's pretty top notch IMO. But, I have been hearing different things about different Busse's and the INFI used in them. The original straight handle Busse BM was 100% original INFI. But, then those basics were something called M-Infi. So what is the BM-E? Is it the same material as the original? Is the quality as good? I tried to do some searches but to many threads came back. If this has been discussed you can just post the links....

I am pretty sure the BM-E is actually modified 420J2. I would gladly take it off your hands for a nice conversation piece to hang on the wall. How's $25 +shipping sound?;)

PrivateIsland,
Welcome to the forums, I'm glad that you stopped by.

All Battle Mistresses have always been made of INFI. Only the basic series with Resiprene C handles were ever made of Modified INFI. MINFI is no longer being used (except for a few left over basics)

You've got the real thing, use it well and enjoy it.

In all honesty the difference between MINFI and INFI is so small none of us could probably tell in use.

:D:D

Thanks Eric for the info... It's a pretty nice blade. I just don't like the grind of it. But it does chop VERY well.

Which grind? The Edge grind or the primary grind?

If it's just the edge grind send it back to the shop and ask that they adjust the edge to your preference. It will just cost you some shipping (to and from) but may greatly increase the enjoyment of the blade.

Eric, Thanks for that info. The actual edge is a little thick. It feels/looks almost like a axe. I don't mind the actual grind. I'll contact Busse about the process of sending it in.
