Difference in packaging for BK2

I received my BK2 in the beige/kharky coloured box. I've noticed some posts where it comes in the black packaging. Is there a reason why?

Also mine came already inserted in sheath where I've also seem some where the knife blade is covered in a paper sleeve & the sheath is covered in plastic.

That's strange. All I have ever seen from the factory is the OD box, and the black box, and all the knives I've ever got from Kabar have a paper blade cover. Could you post pics of the packaging. Sounds strange, I usually want to see the knife, but you could post both. :D

I'll ask about it if I get a chance.

This is how I got it out of the box.
Knife was in sheath. If I had to be petty then I would mention the 2 light smudges on the sheath but it's no biggie.
The box is genuine just curious as to why.
Haven't used the knife yet, all I did was slap micarta on.

It's from a very reputable dealer who I'm sure you all are familiar with who provided me with good service.
 
my 7 and 9 came in their sheaths. I cant remember about the 2. Maybe I can find the box around here somewhere...
 
Ok, that's what I call the OD or olive box. Just older stock is all. Still a good knife, just different packaging. :D

Maybe when your knife shows up in the sheath vs. in the cardboard and plastic it just mean that it was inspected before shipping?

The three BK2's I ordered came packaged same as your picture.

Its possible it was a display model, or returned. Either way, its the same knife that we all get, quality wise, I'm sure of that. Enjoy. :D

or the shipper inspected it before pushing it out, and the sheath is the better way to ship it for safety, imho...

my last Becker came dripping in blood :) guess it found something to eat along the way :)
 
Hey Bladite, think you could do a picture of the evolution of Becker boxes and put it in the history (or is it already there)?
I have a few different ones. In addition to the black Kabar boxes mentioned in the OP, what else was/is there?
