Differences between bowie and persian blade shape

What are the major differences between these blade shapes? Both look similar to me especially the ones on folders.
 
I'll try to take a stab at it kabayan :)

From what I understand, the Persian blade's design has a continous curve on the spine which ends in a upswept point or tip. Below are two traditional jambiya daggers for example -

Below is supposedly the official Jordanian military knife -

This more traditional one has a more curved spine resulting in a more upwept tip; above the centerline of the blade -

As for the bowie, the spine is straight yet a portion up front is "clipped" or sloping downward, either at or below the center line.
