Differences between non date CQC9 and the 2001 CQC9!

Hi There!

Since I got the opportunity to have these two together, I did some observations....

First a pic of the pre-date CQC9 serrated:

Clockwise: Thinner liners on the 2001 (but same overall thickness!), different placement of the lanyard hole and deeper countersunk holes for the screws, squared front guard (instead of rounded for more clearance for the hole) and bigger micarta spacer.

It's good to know that Ernie keeps refining a former design as he sees it could be improved in some areas!

Both are beautiful pieces....

I was quite surprised to see how naturally the thumb gravitates to the finger grooves on the back of the blade in 'sabre' grip.....

Yes, I was lucku enough to have two of these beasts.... but for a short period of time....

I was getting from the show and my e-mail box was full!!!!

Rob, the CQC9 is part of Ernie's custom line, not a production piece. Unfortunately Ernie cut off new orders in July of last year.
