Hi guys, I have copied this post over from General, in the hope of getting more feedback.
Many of you know that here in Oz we have great difficulty importing any sort of half decent folder. In the course of researching my case for importing a Spyderco Manix 2, Lightweight, I was pretty surprised to find that the blue Tenacious is listed as a controlled knife, whereas the regular black Tenacious isn't. Can anyone think of any reason for the two to be different? The Customs boys, and girls, like to apply a robust flick test, which it would appear was passed by a black one and failed by a blue one. Is there any reason for this, or did they just get a slightly sloppier blue one, which happens occasionally. I mean, even Spyderco's quality control isn't perfect! Your thoughts?
To Sal, or anyone from Spyderco, you probably get enough sales not to worry about us in Oz. But we sure would appreciate any help or advice you can give us here! I find this ridiculous, and surely there is no good reason for this to happen. Is there anything Spyderco can do? We will have a new government in a couple of weeks, and the new minister for Home Affairs may well be more receptive.
