Does anyone happen to know the differences/advancements/modifications made when CKF went from the original version to the "2.0" version (other than the availability of the blackwashed blade model and blue anodization of some titanium parts)?

Ordered the "2.0" but most reviews (prior to the one on 07/15) were of the original version.

Thanks All!

"...the availability of the blackwash blade model and blue anodization of some titanium parts" - I think you just listed all of the differences...though CKF might want people to think there's an new bearing pivot...by now calling MRBS, "2rbs". -- I'd bet the farm it's just more CKF "BS". If anyone get's a 2.0 _and can get it open_ please share so we can all get a look. Here's a look inside my (original) Sukhoi. I'll bet it's EXACLTY the same as the Sukhoi 2.0 except for a couple of blue anodized parts and a blackwashed blade.

Hey Scrim, are you able to detect the material used for the bearings themselves?

They were darker, not bright shiny (and obviously) steel...but I didn't check closely...so, not sure...could be ceramic, could be steel. I think that if they were...or are now, CKF would emphasize that as a "new improvement". So either they are not "new" ceramic bearings or CKF are just crappy marketers.

Scrim, I am still very curious about your "undiscovered procedure" for getting pivot separation (from the other thread).

Yep, that is the video which pushed me over the edge to order.

He states that the Bearings are ceramic.

He does. I think they probably are as they are dark in color and look like other ceramic bearings I've seen. I can't believe I didn't think to take a close look when I had mine open...but I'm leaning towards them being ceramic, in both versions of the Sukhoi.

Hey all:

I just received my new Sukhoi 2.0 (satin blade). It's my first CKF model, and I'm certainly impressed with the overall fit and finish. However, there are two things:

1) The damn thing is as dull as a butter knife. I have no idea what the usual reputation is for the sharpness of most CKF knives. Maybe this is their normal?

2) I've only had the thing for two weeks, and don't even flip it open that often. But the blade stop pin is loose. To be specific, it's loose enough to hear it rattle lightly if I shake the knife while the blade is part-way open. It seems to lock open perfectly fine, and closes perfectly fine. Is this common with ANY knife? Where the stop pin is simply a micron or two smaller in diameter than the holes in the titanium? Or will this get worse?

Thanks.
