Hi guys,

When I got my two NMFSHs at Santa´s Ganza, I kinda disliked one of the combinations I carefully choosed (Sage+BlackCanvas).

I went into the busse site today (two or three months later is it?), and had a look at what led me to request that combination, and found out, the combination pictured was dramatically different from what I got... then I took out my Double Cut + Black Canvas SH, and noticed I got two very different TONES in the same COLOR, and at the same time, they both were different from the one pictured at the busse site... Somehow there is some variation on the amount of white fibers on the micarta...

Probably this bit of information is useless as it is, but could be a good point of reference for future orders, at least I would have liked to have it...here are the pics:

THESE ARE MY BLADES´s handles, the Sage+BC is at the top (the colors turned out to be very accurate in the pic. from what I can see in reality):

CHEERS!

They both look like black canvas to me, the difference being that the double cut blade the micarta is blasted as well as the blade. While the coated blade's micarta is not bead blasted.

Nah, I dont think the manufacturing process goes that way... (finishing the blade after installing the handles). Or the rivets might have shown the bead blasting process. But if that is the reason why they are a little darker, I might go and try to bead blast them to get them lighter...

Sage and black canvas is one of my favorite combos. If you wet both handles with water I bet they will look very similar. If you like that look then you can spray wd40 on the handles(mineral oil) and they will stay darker longer. Black canvas looks the best with use. It will have contrast between dark and light. Not to worry.

That is the process at least sometimes. My double cut black paper BOSS Jack showed bead blasting on the scales and rivets. Wish I could show you but I can't link right now, but I did start start up a thread asking about what gets double cut on a double cut blade a long time ago.
