I was doing some research on the Emerson Commanders and found that the 2002 Model was redesigned and appears to be much better. I have a couple of questions if anybody can answer:

Does the resdesigned 2002 Commander also include the mini commander in regards to all of the redesigns?

What exactly should be on the blade to identify it as a 2002 Commander ie. does it say 2002 or 02?

Does anybody know where I can purchase a new 2002 model and not ACCIDENTALY get a 2001.

If the 2002 is so much better than previous, what can we expect for the 2003 model and when do they come out and how do we know when they arrive.

The Emerson Knife section on this forum appears to be barren and so I post here for the all knowing forumites to view.
 
Careful about referring to Emerson Knife as Ek as there is an Ek knife company, started by a staunch patriot John Ek in 1941 which has a history even more colorful than that of Randall Made Knives.

Ek knives do not command a great following due to the obscurity of it's history, but they do have quite a few who are adamantly proud of that history.
 
Where exactly are you in Vancouver? If you ever drop by HOK in Oakridge on the weekend I can show you my '00 vs my '02.

The '02's lost the swedge and had a bigger backspacer. Screw placements are a little different also.
